The screen turned black and what do I do now?

The screen turned black when I was on the Internet and the computer was still on because I heard it working and the keyboard num lock light is on. But then it sounded like it turned it self off but the power on is flashing and the keyboard num lock light is still on. This has happened before and the last time I pushed the power on, hold for a few seconds and it turned off completely.
