LAPTOP HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!… ?

i'm getting a new sony vio laptop tommorow for christmas costing £450, and I like to use it for the odd game or 2, half life, unreal tournament, psi ops, portal ect, anyway If anyone has one or knows about them, please tell me if the games will work or else i'll need to buy a new computer :( my sisters laptop is an advent and it won't play them :( i want to make sure it won't happen to me :) help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
