How do you crop a GIF image without losing anmation?

I'm animating sprites in a application, but it always comes to be very large. For what I'm do ind, transparent GIF's will not work, for the size will mess it up. Does anybody know of a way or an online uploading source I can do this from? Thanks in advance.
