Paint eating cat paint eating cat?

Iv caught my adult cat sharpening her nails by scratching da paint off da walls but when the paint chips fall on the floor she eats them. Also she have been chewing plastic bags till a piece brakes off and eats that too. Have n e one have had this/these problems with their cat, is it normal, and how do I keep her from doin it?
