My pc sound isnt working! :(?

Yesterday while playing a game,my pc sound stopped working although all the cables are connected and the 4 speakers work, bec i tried em with my mobile. And i think its not the motherboard bec. the mic is connected through the motherboard and it is working. The Volume isnt muted so im sure its not the volume control... NB. the sound isnt working with any application or anything.
