Is it possible to have a cold in only one side of your nose...?

or could it be allergies? I woke up this morning with the left side of my nose completely stopped up. It has been runny/congested all day. It's wierd though b/c the right side is completely clear! The runniness of the left side is driving me up the wall!!! Has this ever happened to you or do you know which one it could be? I am just really curious b/c I have a 3.5 mo. old and I don't want to get her sick. I don't really have allergies all that much, just a little stuffiness here and there. Thanks in advance!
