How to measure uncertainty?

Uncertainty is taken as the half of the least that we can measure withe concerned scale by which we measured the said quantity. When we measure something s 9.2 we must have measured it using mm scale. So uncertainty = 0.5 mm or 0.05 cm. The measurement 9.2 +/- 0.05 has two significant figures out of which one that is '9' is reliable and '2' is unreliable by +/-0.05.
