Do you believe in divine intervention?

With all of the torment and suffering in this world. can we truly believe in divine intervention? Sure you can promise God you'll go to church if you p a test or win a football game, but the only alternatives there are win or lose. But what about the natural disasters and wars that are killing innocent people? I truly believe in a divine power, but how can we keep claiming a "loving God" with all of this torture on a daily basis? For divine intervention from a loving source, this pain will be removed. However, free choice will be removed too. Life is a paradox, a struggle that gets harder to cope with everyday. I thought growing older would answer these questions, but it just raises more. It does make coping with mortality a bit easier though, I'm anxious to see what's on the other side. I just use this as a forum to spark discussion, it's interesting to see other perspectives.
